CWI Coatings for Every Application

Even the strongest of premium metals sometimes need a coating to withstand the harsh applications of industries like Aeroespacial.

High quality metals and alloys promote strength, durability and consistent performance. However, they can be made to last even longer with specialty coatings.

Thankfully, CWI has both the premium metals you’re looking for and the coatings and lubricants to ensure the performance required, increasing the breaking strength of our metals.

Look no further than CWI, coatings for every application.

Heavy Duty Coatings for Heat and Pressure

We offer a variety of coatings and lubricants for our Bar Stock y Alambre de rumbo en frío. These coatings and lubricants, coupled with superior metallurgical consistency, ensure peak performance in demanding conditions of heat and pressure.

Central Wire’s Bar Stock and Cold Heading Wire is used extensively in Aerospace fastener systems and other applications that have demanding conditions. Continue reading to learn more about CWI’s broad range of coatings and lubricants.

Coating and Lubricant Options

CWI’s molybdenum disulfide coating decreases the amount of friction as heading and extrusion forces increase. The harder you work, the harder the disulfide coating works for you. For applications that require friction to be limited, such as Aerospace parts, it performs consistently.

Él copper-moly coating securely bonds with the surface of the wire. This coating has a shiny black appearance and is formulated for the most difficult cold and warm-formed parts. CWI’s Techcote™ is used in applications that don’t have complex and demanding conditions.

  • Precoat: annealed and ready for heading or skinpass. This coating is used for simple parts.
  • Copper Moly: skinpassed and ready for heading directly. This coating is our highest performing coating available, used for the most difficult engineered fasteners.
  • Moly Supercoat: annealed and reading for heading or skinpass. Molybdenum acts as a lubricant.
  • Copper Grease: annealed and ready for heading or skinpass. Copper acts as a lubricant.
  • Grease: skinpassed and ready for heading directly. This coating is used for light duty forming.
  • Techcote™ Soap: skinpassed and ready for heading directly. This lubricant is used for light duty forming for relatively simple parts.
  • Moly Techcote™: skinpassed and ready for heading directly. Available with light or heavy moly. This is a soap coating enriched with molybdenum disulfide for extra protection while forming.
  • Copper Techcote™: skinpassed and ready for heading directly. This coating is used for more difficult parts that require high performance lubrication. This coating offers light residual for anti-packing and low dusting.
  • Copper Precoat: annealed and ready for heading or skinpass. Copper acts as a lubricant for moderately severe forming.
