C4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy engineered to perform under high-temperature conditions.
C4 Overview
Alloy C4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy engineered to perform under high-temperature conditions, particularly in situations where weld design leads to unavoidable heat concentration. It offers comparable resistance to general corrosion, localized corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking as Alloy C276. The alloy’s high chromium and molybdenum content provides strong protection against both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and it resists pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich and halide-containing environments. Like many nickel-based alloys, Alloy C-4 is known for its ductility and ease of fabrication and welding.
