Marine Research and Innovation
The marine industry presents unique challenges, requiring corrosion resistant, durable products that can withstand harsh weather conditions.
Below you can see our product lines that cater to the industry and the applications of our products in the marine industry.
Product Lines
Custom cable assemblies crafted with precision and expertise. Our aircraft, military, and commercial cable assemblies are all highly customizable, and are durable enough to withstand demanding applications.
High quality fine wire produced in sizes from 0.001” up to 0.032” with custom sizes available by request. Tempers range from soft annealed to spring temper.
Specialized mooring and oceanographic cable designed for durability and reliability in diverse marine environments. These cables, with a 3×19 construction using galvanized wire and a standard polypropylene black jacket, are engineered for spin and corrosion resistance.
Available in stainless, duplex, nickel, copper, brass and carbon alloys, our shape wire is custom manufactured in house to fit specific customer needs. The profile wire sizes we offer are 1.25mm² to 150mm ² CSA (Cross Sectional Area).
Welding wire produced for various techniques including MIG, TIG and SAW welding. Available in stainless and nickel-based alloys.
Marine applications rely on a few specific qualities from wire and cable products. The ability to withstand salt water corrosion and other environmental challenges, as well as durability and strength make marine applications possible.
Here are a few places in the marine industry that you may find the products we manufacture:
Product Applications
Buoy Moorings
Mooring lines are attached to buoys and extend down to the anchor on the seabed. These are coated cables with nylon casings that are chosen specifically for their strength, flexibility and resistance to deterioration from water or sunlight. These cables keep buoys secure in a body of water, either for safety and warning reasons or for scientific marine research.
Research Equipment
Many oceanographic research technologies such as cameras and sensors are deployed underwater by cables. These research projects often require deployment very deep below the surface. This means the cables must be strong and durable, as well as resistant to salt water corrosion as to not wear down during these applications.
Data Anchoring
Marine data anchoring requires stable cables, as research technologies must be fixed in a specific location. The cables must be durable and sturdy enough to maintain the position of the camera, sensor or other technology in order to obtain correct data results.
Subsea Instruments
Many subsea monitoring instruments require very intricate technology, as well as stable cables, to obtain the data that is desired. Our ISO9001 certified fine wire can be found in these technologies, used as chemical or temperature sensors for example to deliver information to researchers.
Tethering Cables
Boat tethering applications require stability and reliability that offers peace of mind, knowing your boat will remain safe and secure. This application also requires salt water corrosion resistance, so that cables will not wear down and need to be replaced.
