As a manufacturer catering to over 20 different industries, we understand the varying conditions our products may be put under. The demands of corrosive environments, extreme temperatures and more require us to manufacture a diverse range of premium alloys across a variety of product lines.
Finding a manufacturer with an alloy selection as broad as ours, who can also offer custom solutions catered to your project requirements can be challenging. Thankfully, our custom engineering capabilities allow us to produce the product that fits your specifications.
Continue reading below to explore the capabilities of Inconel® X-750, one of the superstars of our alloy catalog, and to discover its most effective end-use applications.
Strengths of X-750
An alloy that provides excellent versatility, X-750 has an extensive list of qualities which support its various applications. This alloy is classified as a high-performance Austenitic Nickel-Chromium alloy, which is made precipitation-hardenable by the addition of Aluminum and Titanium.
Resistance
One of the main strengths of X-750 lies in its resistance to common industry hazards. Many of the industries we serve, from Oil and Gas to Aerospace, create unique environmental challenges that can compromise the performance of materials.
Inconel® X-750 offers excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, adding reliability in downhole applications. It is also resistant to many industrial corrosives under oxidizing and reducing conditions, while also possessing excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking in fully age-hardened conditions.
The resistance to these conditions increases the versatility and reliability of this alloy and creates a solution that is unlikely to decrease in performance over time.
Temperature Capabilities
With the varying temperatures present in the industries we serve; the temperature range that X-750 can handle is key to many of its applications. In extreme heat, Inconel® X-750 offers good elevated temperature strength properties up to 1300ºF (700°C) and oxidation resistance up to 1800ºF (983˚C).
This alloy also maintains high tensile strength and strong creep-rupture properties at high temperatures. If it is being used for extended applications requiring high strength at high temperatures, X-750 may require a solution treatment, with air cooling between intermediate and final aging.
Durability, Workability and Performance
Adding on to its properties in corrosive environments and at extreme temperatures, X-750 offers excellent durability in its common applications too. This alloy also displays excellent workability, including machinability and welding.
Overall, there are very few conditions or demands that are too much for this high-performance Nickel-Chromium alloy. Its longevity, strength and durability make it a high performer across various industries.
